Dana’s dream and vision is to provide a safe and caring home for women to get clean and sober with dignity, and to build a foundation for recovery. A home with a family atmosphere, that offers structured 12-step meetings and activities for women in a drug and alcohol free environment. A program that will be free of charge to the women it serves.
Once they have been clean and sober for thirty days, there will be an opportunity to extend their stay in the sober living program for a nominal fee.
Dana, like many women, struggled with drug and alcohol addiction. In searching for help, we learned that resources were scarce -- especially to those without the ability to pay. Any delay during this time is critical to one’s recovery. After weeks of phone calls, searching, and a wait list, she finally found an opening in a home just like this. From this her vision was born.
The reality is . . . . . . . .there are not enough homes for the women in need.
The first step will be obtaining a home . . . . . . the model for this project is already in place.
Sober Living Homes like these prosper because of gifts, donations, and the generosity of volunteers. Many of the volunteers have been through similar programs themselves and have been inspired to pay it forward! Dana envisioned creating a home like this. She wanted to start with one and grow from there.
Dana saw this as an opportunity for helping women like her. And as many of you know, once she set her sights on something, there was no stopping her.
